CAREER
After I finished my studies at the AMA (Academy of People and Labor) in 2004, I worked as a consultant/ work coach at CWI/UWV (semi-governmental organization that provides social benefits for unemployed people and help them find a new job) for a number of years. I always attuned my services to the person I had in front of me. Following a standard protocol is not my style. I think it is important to deliver customized work. Every person is different and I like to take that into account!
PARENTING -the Dutch way-
Because I lived as an expat in Asia for a number of years and became a mother there, I gained experience and knowledge of different cultures and upbringing styles. I use this to guide foreign parents (expats/immigrants), who want to educate their children in a relaxed way - the Dutch way.
POSITIVITY
In China I have studied the Positive Psychology. This is a fairly new trend within psychology that focuses primarily on the principle: prevention is better than cure. Several scientific studies have shown that positive thinkers live healthier and longer lives and achieve their goals better. They give up less quickly and experience significantly more happiness. There are many assignments that you can perform to achieve this and I also use a number of them during my coaching sessions.
BEHAVIOR CHANGE
I am currently learning how you can sustainably improve your own behavior in a scientifically supported manner. Habits are repetitions and they create a 'path' into your brain, but they are certainly still changeable! Every day you can get up and start over!
